Aren't the second and fourth items in the history section referring to the same thing? Quentin Durward 08:42, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Re: Policy
edit@Bkonrad: My edit was compliant with Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Disambiguation pages (section) MOS:DABPIPING. According to the policy example below, my edit was an actual straight-forward improvement. Here's an example from the relevant section: MOS:DABPIPING
- When the link is part of the description, rather than the actual entry name, piping can be used more freely. However, the text of the link should still be very similar to the title of the target article, to avoid confusing the reader. For example:
Switch may refer to:
- "Switch", a song by Siouxsie & the Banshees from The Scream
Markup:"Switch", a song by Siouxsie & the Banshees from ''[[The Scream (album)|The Scream]]''
- "Switch", a song by Siouxsie & the Banshees from The Scream
This is exactly what I did in the example above: ''[[The Scream (album)|The Scream]]''. Would you please explain your blanket revert? Thanks. Poeticbent talk 05:04, 8 April 2018 (UTC)
- @Poeticbent:, your edit was not in compliance with MOS:DABPIPING. The links that you piped were not in the descriptions, but were the names of the ambiguous entries. You overlooked the very first bullet point
Use piping to add italics or quotation marks to part of an article name

Requested move 23 December 2020
edit- The following discussion is an archived discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
Moved as proposed, with lowercase Little black book redirecting to Address book#Little black book. BD2412 T 05:59, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
- Black book → Black Book
- Little black book → Little Black Book
- Little Black Book → Little Black Book (film)
– Everything on the disambiguation page is a proper noun that is capitalized, so the disambiguation page should be too. I also think that the current names, Black book and Little black book, should be redirected to Address book as WP:PRIMARYREDIRECTs. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 11:41, 23 December 2020 (UTC) —Relisting. Jack Frost (talk) 13:09, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support moves, oppose proposed redirects to Address book, as judging from Google Scholar [1] and other search engines, the SEs assume you are looking for one of the proper-name things and just didn't bother to capitalize. (t · c) buidhe 14:51, 23 December 2020 (UTC)
- Support Black Book per nom, but Black book should redirect to the DAB at Black Book. Support Little black book redirecting to address book. I'm not sure that the current Little black book dab needs to exist on its own; the two entries could be done through hatnotes. power~enwiki (π, ν) 06:03, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Relisted To allow consensus regarding the proposed redirects to be more clearly established. --Jack Frost (talk) 13:14, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support the moves per nom but unsure on if the lower case terms should be redirects since Google shows media rather than address books so even ignoring capitalization I'm not sure about the redirects but not opposed either. Crouch, Swale (talk) 22:27, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support the moves because the majority of terms on the pages have title case. Concerning the redirects: Address book is unsourced, but I'd support a redirect of Little black book to Address book#Little black book (see The dictionary definition of little black book at Wiktionary), but not Black book (I've removed the bolded unsourced claim from Address book). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 11:39, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
- Support moves.
Almost indifferent on the remaining Black book redirect, but I lean towards following the dab page since Address book is still at the bottom under "See also".
Little black book should go to Address book#Little black book (with or without section anchor). While a search engine may assume you are looking for media, if one tweaks the search to "What is a little black book" (a very plausible search), the search results change to show results from its very common usage in everyday speech (e.g. from NYT) or even shopping results--which is probably why Wikitionary has it there. -2pou (talk) 22:15, 2 February 2021 (UTC)
