Population estimate
editI've removed the population estimate because of two problems: contrary to the statement in the article, the source website was copyright 2001 and gave no other evidence of its date, and the boundaries of the area considered by the article are uncertain. If a page from 2001 says that the population "is" a certain number, we can't realistically say that the population was that number in 2007. Moreover, who is to say that those making this estimate envisioned an area with boundaries equal to that of the census-designated place? It would be one thing for a municipality, as municipalities have better-known boundaries, but for a CDP the boundaries aren't marked and are often indefinite. Moreover, the Census Bureau provides no estimates for CDPs; while this by itself isn't enough to make or break the estimate, the lack of an official Census Bureau estimate means that there's no way to replace this local estimate with a sourced Census Bureau estimate. - It's no big deal, but you need to recall that for places like BCC, that are "islands" in large areas of public lands, the CDP usually includes all the privately-owned (inhabitable) property nearby. I agree that this website pop estimate is pretty nebulous. Best regards, Pete Tillman (talk) 20:34, 31 January 2009 (UTC)
