Contested deletion
editThis page should not be speedy deleted (or even slowly deleted) as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because it's clear to me that the slideshow cited in the speedy template post-dates the article (actually Black Sea, whence this page was newly split, although all of the content is still there, too).
While it is true that some paragraphs in the slideshow match the WP text verbatim, our text does indeed have (numerous and good-quality) ref citations. Further, many of the photos used are identical, with the exception that ours are great, clear images, and the slideshow's are crummy versions of the same. It is unlikely, therefore, that we copied the text verbatim from some non-notable slideshow uploader, and somehow got high-quality images therefrom. I see the photos in our article were added (mostly) by one individual from 2004 to 2007. One chunk of text I checked (using Who Wrote That?) was added 11 July 2008. The slideshow was uploaded in 2010.
I believe its creator copied the Wikipedia content and arranged it in their presentation, "forgetting" to credit us when they did. The fault is theirs, not ours.— JohnFromPinckney (talk) 05:03, 20 March 2021 (UTC)
