Walk On By
editI remember hearing Burt Bacharach in an interview on Radio 2 back in the eighties saying that he thought the Stranglers' version of Walk On By was the best cover version of one of his and David's songs that he'd heard. Whether he was just saying this or not I don't know! Ian Dunster 11:17, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well he was right, anyways ;-) --feline1 12:00, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Just like to add I think it is one of the finest album covers of that era.
Fair use rationale for Image:Stranglers - Black-White album cover.jpg
editImage:Stranglers - Black-White album cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
No. 2 in the UK, and 18 weeks. Yeah, really?
editIt says that here about Black and White. It says the exact same thing about No More Heroes. Neither case is cited.
That could even be a case of cloning one article to start a fresh one, then forgetting to adjust that sentence.

In fact both albums reached #2 on the UK charts. Not a staggering coincidence for a band with 2 top ten singles in '77 or '78 or both.

Alternative Track Order on some CDs
editMy CD (UK edition) has a different track order from the original vinyl insofar as Sweden and Hey! (Rise of The Robots) have swapped places and In The Shadows follows Threatened. It also has 2 extra tracks, Mean To Me and Walk On By as the last 2. I presume this was accidental as the remaster restores them to the original order. I don't know how common the alternative order was or if it's worth a mention?85.210.120.110 (talk) 00:01, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Track Nos.
editBoth "Toiler on the Sea" and "Curfew" are track n. 7.
If we change the track numbers of "Curfew" and the following songs, would the personnel details remain the same?
- Jean-Jacques Burnel – bass guitar, lead and backing vocals (lead vocals on 7, 8, 10 and "Shut Up")
- Dave Greenfield – keyboards (Hammond L100 Organ, Hohner Cembalet electric piano, Minimoog synthesizer), lead and backing vocals (lead vocals on 9)
