Do we know the date of first flight? Drutt (talk) 12:56, 30 January 2008 (UTC)
Stupid question...
edit...but how the jiminy did it end up being called the Blackburn Blackburn? Whose choice was that? What did crews etc. call the thing when in service?
Number built
editThe infobox claims 44 were built, but the article body claims there were three prototypes, 33 of the Mk.I and 29 of the Mk.II. That gives a total of 65. 2A02:C7F:2CC5:5A00:A071:22CB:DCF3:5068 (talk) 19:22, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- Jackson's Blackburn Aircraft since 1909 (pp. 168–169) gives three Mark I prototypes and 30 production Mark Is. The Mark II prototype was a conversion of the first Mark I prototype and this was followed by 29 production Mk IIs (a total of 62 aircraft). Jackson also notes (p. 164) that "many [Mk Is] eventually returned to Brough to be modified up to Mk II standard".Nigel Ish (talk) 22:50, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
