Aligning with WP:MOSDAB

edit

There are several problems with the current version of this disambiguation page according to WP:MOSDAB. I made several corrections, but these were reverted by Anthony Appleyard. He requested that a discussion take place before further edits were made, therefore I will outline below the problems with the current version.

  1. An entry linking to the Blackening (cooking) article is more appropriate than one linking to the Cajun cuisine article. The cooking technique of blackening has its own article, therefore the entry should not simply link to a related article.
  2. The entry linking to black is inappropriate as the concept of "making something black" is not discussed on that article and therefore is simply a dictionary definition. Wikipedia is not a dictionary, and the link to the Wiktionary article (including the entry "to make black") is already included.
  3. The entry linking to blackened death metal is a partial title match, which is prohibited by this guideline in WP:MOSDAB. No one searching for "blackened death metal" would only type "blackened" into the search bar.
  4. Splitting the entries into section headings based on the tense or participle of the term being disambiguated is not appropriate, especially as there are so few entries on the page. Including various sections is only appropriate for longer disambiguation pages, and then, the separation should be based on subject area rather than the grammatical tense the title of a particular entry happens to employ.
