edit

"Andy Peebles" "link" that "Wikipedia" has placed on "Andy Peebles" name in the subject "Early days of Blackfoot (Band)" is "incorrect". "Andy Peebles" was most likely born in New Jersey and is not, nor ever was the same "Andy Peebles" linked to a "D.J. and / or Radio Personality" from England. Wikipedia should "delete" or "undo" this "link" as it is "in-correct" and "serves no purpose" in reference to "The Band known as "Blackfoot". Please make this "simple but necessary" correction as soon as possible, as it is "incorrect and misleading". My name is "Steve Bondy" from Morristown, New Jersey and I am "mentioned correctly" in this same article with "Andy Peebles". I Thank You in advance for correcting this "erroneous link".SignedStereotype5346 (talk) 02:37, 7 May 2023 (UTC)Steve Bondy— Preceding unsigned comment added by Stereotype5346 (talkcontribs) 03:47, 5 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Re: "They had broken up by 1984"

edit

This cannot be right. They were at the 'Return of the Knebworth Fayre' Festival in 1985, which was headlined by the newly re-formed Deep Purple. See Wikipeia article 'Concerts at Knebworth House'.
[added by Jerry Tracey, West Lothian, Scotland on 15 Jan 2007] I watched them play at Knebworth in 1985 they were fantastic ! so they can't have broken up in 1984 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.132.248.88 (talk) 17:50, 7 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Can't find any definitive information on the Official Website. Maybe the writer made an assumption based on the 1984 recording date of their last pre-breakup studio LP (VERTICAL SMILES)? Anyone have definitive info on breakup date. GBrady (talk) 20:04, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Poor writing, inconsistent information

edit

This has got to be one of the most poorly written articles I have ever seen on Wikipedia. Whoever wrote it probably copied some of the bio information from other websites, as it is obvious that person is not a very good writer, much less familiar with bands and rock music terminology. That was clear from the very beginniong when the article starts with the statement "Blackfoot is a Southern rock musical ensemble." "Musical ensemble" sounds like it would fit perfectly when describing a group that plays classical music, but it made me laugh to see it describing Blackfoot.

Other statements like "...Rickey Medlocke and Greg T. Walker met former New York City native Charlie Hargrett in Jacksonville and organized the band Fresh Garbage with Ron Sciabarasi for keyboards, Rick for drums and vocals, Greg for bass and Hargrett for lead guitar..." and "...Medlocke decided to continue with a new team that included Doug "Bingo" Bare (keyboards, synthetics, backup vocals)..." only serve to reinforce that feeling.

I know the writer must be referring to synthesizers, but the use of the term "synthetics" is not even close to that. That sounds more like something you would say to describe nylon because it is a "synthetic" material.

As far as some of the historical information goes, some of it seems fine and some it isn't. Charlie Hargrett wrote a detailed history of his time in the band. I would think first hand information is better than anything copied and reworded. You can find it at siogo.com. He even explains what SIOGO means. And no, it isn't an Indian word meaning "closeness" or "togetherness". LOL — Preceding unsigned comment added by Axel Slingerland (talkcontribs) 19:26, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Is this: "Walker joined the band Cross Country for a short period" correct? The link goes to The Tokens side project Cross Country which seems like a very unlikely fit for a Blackfoot veteran. Was there another band called Cross Country? If it is accurate, the page for Cross Country probably needs to note it.

Proposed merge with Blackfoot North American Tour 2018

edit

Blackfoot North American Tour 2018 tour does not meet the notability guidelines in WP:NTOUR. I suggest that it be merged into the band's main article. Jmertel23 (talk) 18:36, 12 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
