Talk:Blairsville, Georgia
I was just wondering if any one besides me on this website lives here. --User:Modersbach
I don't live there, but I visit for camping & hiking often enough. You guys need to change your liquor laws. --206.61.144.2 20:45, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
I grew up in Blairsville, but I currently don't live there. My mother and brother do, however. And I do agree about the liquor laws needing to change.--Benjamin Geiger 05:19, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
You are not the only one to live there.
How would the town square be classified?
editIt seems like it could be defined as either a roundabout or a traffic circle; incoming traffic has to yield (roundabout), parking is allowed on the inside (traffic circle), pedestrians are allowed on the inside (traffic circle)... --Benjamin Geiger 12:38, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
Inappropriate Edits
editRather interesting to find that someone added their relatives and friends as notables. Specifically, Houston B. Rockwood seems to have been prominent in both this article and the article for Young Harris, Georgia. I've removed the inappropriate entries in both articles. Life
editI've placed a POV tag on this section, as it has a very biased point of view, with lots of original research. While I certainly understand that the author of this section, being a resident, is certainly qualified to state what life in Blairsville is like, it's not up to Wikipedia standards. Please review Wikipedia:NPOV and the FAQ for guidelines. Kemkerj (talk) 15:09, 11 January 2010 (UTC)
Yeah
editI removed the Life bit, I think It's better now =]. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ncboy2010 (talk • contribs) 23:32, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

editCould someone plot the nearby cities in this:

editIt was taken from Francis Preston Blair, there was no attribution:
"At the top of the state of Georgia lies Union County, named after the Union Party who strongly supported President Andrew Jackson for his policy of Indian removal. On December 26, 1835, the Georgia General Assembly designated Union’s county seat in an act that read, "lot No. 273 of the ninth district and first section of, originally Cherokee, now Union county, and at a place now known by the name of Blairsville" (Ga. Laws 1835, p. 113). It is traditionally assumed that the town (Blairsville, Georgia) was named after Francis P. Blair who was not only a prominent and influential man of his time but was a strong supporter of the Union Party in which the county itself had been named after. Adjacent towns and counties in the area have similar ties to the Union Party that help to support this connection."
The article Blairsville, Georgia states that this town was named after Revolutionary War veteran James Blair. --Taterian (talk) 06:35, 12 March 2016 (UTC)
