Hatching
editIs there a hatching for this? --Daniel C. Boyer (talk) 18:50, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- Not that I've ever seen, and I've been looking specifically for this sort of information for the past six months. --EncycloPetey (talk) 22:24, 17 March 2008 (UTC)
- On the hatching page there is a German chart all the way down that does depict a hatching for some tinctures that are little-known, and one of them is 'wasser': horizontal dashed lines. I don't know if that's even close but it's the best I can find - the rest of the web looks useless in this regard unless one can ask an expert properly. Aspect of Proper?
editI think the blades of the oars are an aspect of proper, and should be removed on this basis. --Daniel C. Boyer (talk) 19:36, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- What source says they're "proper"? --EncycloPetey (talk) 23:23, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
- Just chiming in here to point out that "proper" is a heraldic term. If something is depicted "proper" that element of the coat of arms is supposed to be displayed just as found in nature. (If, for example, you wanted to use a face & wanted that face to be the color of an actual human's skin you would color the face with proper tones, not with the tinctures of heraldry.) 75.187.40.50 (talk) 17:53, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
