Concerning precedent

edit

Deleting the Wikipedia page for Gemma Hayes' album Blind Faith sets a concerning precedent for the deletion of other artists' albums, undermining the purpose of Wikipedia as a comprehensive and inclusive repository of knowledge.

If Blind Faith is deemed unworthy of documentation, then by the same logic, every album page from every artist worldwide should be considered for deletion. This is clearly an impractical and unreasonable standard.

Wikipedia’s strength lies in its diversity of information, encompassing works from both mainstream and niche artists. To selectively target Blind Faith for deletion, while leaving similar pages intact, is not only inconsistent but can be seen as an act of vandalism. It unjustly singles out one artist's contribution to music, potentially due to a subjective bias rather than objective criteria.

Furthermore, such an action devalues the contributions of independent artists and their fanbases, marginalizing their presence on a platform that claims to be democratic and inclusive.

Instead of removing the page, efforts should be made to improve its content, ensuring it meets Wikipedia’s standards for notability and verifiability. Deleting it, on the other hand, erases valuable information and perpetuates a biased selection process, which contradicts the core values of Wikipedia.
