Trivia suggestion

edit

Trivia suggestion: The song 'The Fable of the Brown Ape' on Nick Cave's latest album (the first one made after Blixa's 'departure' from the band) repeatedly mentions a "farmer Emmerich". A reference to Blixa Bargeld/Christian Emmerich? Also note the 'farewell, so long'... Here's the lyrics, you regulars be the judge... Instruments

edit

I changed the bit about his guitars awhile back anonymously to be more comprehensive, and also added a note about his extensive use of a loop station.--Martinkalashnikov (talk) 12:10, 21 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

In the TV performances of 'Where the Wild Roses Grow' with Kylie Blixa plays an odd Baritone Jazzmaster, it has a longer neck than normal and the vibrato is further to the away from the neck. Blixa only used this guitar when performing with the string quartet (it's tuning helped him blend in with them). I'm not 100% sure exactly what this guitar is, I know Lee Ronaldo has a mid 70's baritone Jazzmaster with a 27" scale length but his has a stop tailpeice. I'm not sure how this would fit in though. A little digging, the guitar is probably Alex Hacke's Trussart Baritone Jazzmaster. Theladfromtheeast (talk) 18:46, 25 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Overall revision, but further work needed

edit

I have revised most of the article today, but it needs further work—in particular, Bargeld's career needs to be elaborated upon, as he has been active for over 30 years, and citations need to be found for particular pieces of information, such as the origins of his name. I will try to get onto this in the next few days, but thought it best to share this update. Thanks,--Soulparadox (talk) 02:53, 19 November 2014 (UTC)Reply

Australia

edit

I was interested in how he came to The Bad Seeds - not just how Nick Cave saw him on TV. How did they meet, how did he cope to play in an Australian band while having a band in Germany at the same time etc. Does anyone have a clue? --89.204.139.29 (talk) 07:19, 14 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Nick Cave and the Bd Seeds were based out of Berlin for a while. Orabanium (talk) 15:29, 24 July 2021 (UTC)Reply

Daughter Morgaine?

edit

"In his younger years, Blixa had a relationship with an Australian fan, Debra Petrovich, and together had a daughter, Morgaine." Is there a source for this? It appears that Google has pulled this for a fact when you search "Blixa Bargeld daughter", but I can't find any proof beyond that. He does have a daughter, Anna, with his wife, Erin. --67.44.192.159 (talk) 03:36, 6 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
