Clockwise vs. Counterclockwise

Thus the transverse magnetization, Mxy, rotates around the z axis with angular frequency ω0   γB0 in counterclockwise direction (this due to the negative sign in the exponent).

Actually, Mxy rotates in clockwise direction:

 

When   grows, the apex of the Mxy moves down and to the left -- clockwise.

Moreover, I think that writing   would be somewhat better because it is easier to draw the parallel with the notion of Larmor frequency in this way.

I will only change "counterclockwise" to "clockwise" and wait for comments on the negative circular frequency idea.

bloch-equation quantum theory

the block-equation, or rather a bloch-action that induces the (plain) bloch equation, also arises in quantum field theory, when constructing a feynman path integral (euklidean) for spin degrees of freedom [condensed matter field theory, altland/simons, 3.3.5]. this might be interesting fact to add. 217.93.151.103 (talk) 13:50, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Bz and the change of Mz
