Geography
editIMO, the article Blowing Rock (land feature) also deserves names of gorge and its enclosing ridges, and vertical and horizontal dimensions, which i don't have at immediate hand.
Wind speed
editWind-speed estimates if available, and a slightly less handwaving treatment of the aerodynamics, would IMO ensure moving this out of stubdom.
Legend
editBut i am not inclined to add the romantic and patronizing legend involving local Indians unless there is some scholary folklore research showing it's more than an fabrication for the benefit of tourism. --Jerzy 04:47, 2003 Nov 24 (UTC)
The AAA 2002 tourbook for Georgia, NC, and SC says that the legend about the rock involves a Chickasaw maiden, whose prayers brought her lover back to her on the winds after he jumped. However, this article refers to a Cherokee brave as the leaper... I don't know anything else about it, so maybe the legend does involve two different tribes, but maybe somebody familiar with the story should check on that... --Steve-o Stonebraker 01:35, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
