Too many images

edit

There are too many and repetitive images hoarded in this article. This is in violation of WP:IG. The article is not an image gallery, for that purpose Wikimedia Commons exist. If a specific item is described, it can have one image to illustrate it. Others can be referenced in-line. Request trimming down and streamlining this mess. Gryffindor (talk) 09:38, 24 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

No, this is a visual subject, and your views, expressed here and elsewhere, are out of line with community views on how to illustrate articles on art. How many images do you think the article should have? And why? Have you looked at any FAs on art? There is nothing in WP:IG supporting "If a specific item is described, it can have one image to illustrate it. Others can be referenced in-line." Please don't make up policy. The article could of course be improved, andf the captions made more informative, but the selection is reasonable & the solution is to expand the text rather than reduce the number of images. Of course, if you are not interested in the subject, the images will appear "repetitive". I respectively suggest you spend your time cleaning-up your new articles, such as Akogi ware - only 2 bare url refs, both to ebay!! Johnbod (talk) 10:29, 24 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
