Guinness World Record?

The claim to a world record seems to be false; see [1]. I've edited the related text from Australian_Cattle_Dog#Lifespan into the article. (I also changed the text of the other citation to match its source's title.) --Jesdisciple (talk) 04:32, 27 October 2008 (UTC)

The counter-claim that this is NOT a record is cited by just one author, who appears to be an author of popular works on animals such as monkeys. What does that have to do with dogs?69.15.219.71 (talk) 20:20, 30 November 2011 (UTC)

@Supai: thanks for bringing the issue to our attention. I changed the wording to reflect the evidence we currently have, and even added a source that also cast doubts about Bluey's age. But not until the Guiness World Record shows something else (e.g., that it based their claim in anecdotal sources), we can only state here what the GWR says algonside what others say. Those interested in pursuing this issue might want to contact the 1) GWR and 2) http://genomics.senescence.info/ (who also failed to cite sources for their claim against Bluey) for their records. "Dazy Moo"

No matter how hard I tried, I can't find any information on "Dazy Moo". More so, the section doesn't expand at all on what "Dazy Moo" is. The only notable thing a google search of this reveals is a link to this Wikipedia article. I'm removing this and the section for popular culture unless I can get a source. Yahoo! Search says that it's "Daisy Moo" and not "Dazy Moo" and Google says that's it's Instragramer Dazy Moo Bear, not "Dazy Moo". Rdgscratch is back (talk) 00:41, 11 May 2024 (UTC)

Bluey (dog) → Bluey (oldest dog) – Incomplete disambiguation with the children's TV character ... which unfortunately for disambiguation is also an Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. There's precedent for this sort of descriptive title in Sam (ugly dog) (distinguished from Sam (army dog)). If Bobi (dog) poses an issue for the use of superlative, Bluey (29-year-old dog) works too.   I'm not fond of "(oldest dog)", because it oversimplifies the reality. The claim is based on on Guinness, and Guinness is not unimpeachable. Even if Guinness was a very disciplined arbiter, it has to rely on record-keeping. The actual oldest dogs might not have records to prove that. Dogs are typically not given government-issued birth certificates or DNA identity checks, and don't have fingerprints. —⁠ ⁠BarrelProof (talk) 01:01, 5 March 2024 (UTC)

Was Bluey a male or female?

I’ve seen some sources that refer to Bluey as “him” or “he” but this article states Bluey was a female, where does this come from? Thank you. TyjuX45 (talk) 03:00, 14 March 2024 (UTC)
