POV corrections
editI took this out of the article because it is POV for a variety of reasons:
- Contradicting his image of the soft-spoken intellectual, Bob engaged in some unabashed self-indulgence by starring in a program for PLUM TV called "Bob builds his dream house", on location in the Hamptons, the playground for the super-rich elite. Not limiting his dream to a humble abode, he constructed a 6,000 square foot monster home and detailed his "struggles" over decor and the like.
First POV, "his image of the soft-spoken intellectual". We need this cited then include it. Second, "Bob engaged in some unabashed self-indulgence". Who says it is unabashed self-indulgence, is it?
Another problem is I do not see why someone could not necessarily be an intellectual and build a large home - where is the 'contradiction' (first word of the paragraph). --ShaunMacPherson 07:42, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
I don't think the contradiction is meant to be between being intellectual and building a large house so much as between being perceived (rightly or wrongly) as modest and bookish, and then building a large fancy house on a reality TV show. I would question the opening description of the article " best known for his collaborations with Christopher Guest" - that is purely a POV, not a fact, without anything to back it up. - I went ahead and removed the Christopher Guest bit. Out of 78 films and tv series listed on the IMDB for Balaban, only 5 also featured Christopher Guest. I personally have seen him in many more films than those, and do not associate him with Christopher Guest at all. I don't consider this original research, since it doesn't appear that this should have been there in the first place. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.127.39.65 (talk) 03:39, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
==Films==
He was in A Mighty Wind, but I'm I can't be arsed to change it myself, right now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.138.105.38 (talk) 07:50, 6 June 2010 (UTC) Already in there.
shouldn't Seinfeld be in the lede?
editit lists 10+ films etc. I would think his recurring appearances in Seinfeld warrants a mention Jazi Zilber (talk) 17:05, 10 September 2024 (UTC)
