Lets get this article together
editThis person is very notable to the northern California area and should be mentioned in other related articles such as Midnight Movies. I will add this to my watchlist and start editing to expand.--Amadscientist 06:54, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- I loved Bob Wilkins and his TV shows. Wikipedia definitely needs this entry! But most of this page is written in the style of a fan's memories. Stated facts are not sourced, and there is a lot of personal editorializing. As just one example, take this phrase: "it would often (and incredibly) beat network programming, such as Saturday Night Live in the local Nielsen ratings." I hope that contributors will help source verifiable facts and that we can remove opinions (as much as I would agree with them). — Preceding unsigned comment added by CaryKen (talk • contribs) 14:00, 22 March 2019 (UTC)
Afternoon movie show
editThe "afternoon movie show" mentioned in the article is most likely "Dialing for Dollars", usually hosted by Pat McCormick, who would later do weather for KTVU's evening newscasts as well. However, I'm not sure enough to edit the article. Ben Koning (talk) 23:47, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Memorable Interviews
editWilkins was known for interviewing a number of film stars live in the KTVU studios. For example, he welcomed Buster Crabbe back to Crabbe's hometown of Oakland, California in what may have been Crabbe's final television interview. A clip of that appearance, as well as other interviews by Wilkins, may now be viewed on the Internet. These interviews were often the highlight of a particular telecast when the actual movie was a real "turkey." Wilkins certainly did everything he could to make the KTVU programs entertaining.
