Pickett died at the age of 69 on April 25, 2007 at the West Los Angeles Veterans Hospital, due to complications from leukemia.

I always wonder who holds the royolties when an artist/actor/musician dies in Los Angeles in some obscure hospital and whether he/she ever enjoyed the fruits of success. Definitely not Mount Sinai.
The rights he had in the work at the time of his death would, presumably, be part of his estate. His estate would be disposed of according to his will, and/or distributed among his heirs according to the applicable laws. 140.147.160.78 15:13, 9 November 2007 (UTC)Stephen KoscieszaReply

Time Machine

edit

For some reason I severely doubt he actually built a time machine and crashed into a graveyard while trying to meet Dracula, so I'm fixing that. 69.225.135.71 20:37, 28 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Korean war veteran?

edit

If his date of birth is indeed correct he couldn't have been a veteran of the Korean war as he would've only 15 when the armistice was signed.Intrntnlnois (talk) 18:49, 9 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

The article states that Mr. Pickett is an Army veteran who served in Korea - not the active part of the Korean War. Hundreds of thousands have served in Korea since the cease-fire was signed in 1953, and technically North and South Korea have been at war since - albeit a cold war. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.64.0.254 (talk) 16:59, 5 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Wild Cards?

edit

Is it worth mentioning that the alternate-history novel series Wild Cards included a version of Pickett as a character? A super-powered preacher zombie calling himself the Crypt Kicker. DS (talk) 12:45, 27 October 2012 (UTC)Reply

The result of the move request was: No consensus. After over two weeks and a relisting, there is no consensus to add "Boris" to the title. Cúchullain t/c 15:32, 17 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

Bobby PickettBobby "Boris" Pickett – Commonly-used name. Quoted nickname part of the name, allowed by policies WP:TITLEFORMAT and WP:COMMONNAMES. Per WP:GUIDES, we can make the requested name an exception to WP:NICKNAME, which normally discourages quoted nicknames, and then use either existing policies that overcome the guideline or common sense. • Oppose: Per Common name. Both "Bobby Picket" and "Bobby 'Boris' Picket" are equally common with many sources using both in titles and in content randomly. Adding the nickname to the title will not improve the article in any way nor will it make more or less easy to find by readers. --Mike Cline (talk) 15:29, 17 November 2015 (UTC)Reply

The Peter Ferrara link points to The Heartland Institute's Peter Ferrara. There's no evidence for these two being the same person. Circumstantial evidence is strongly against the probability that the two are the same. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.243.22.15 (talk) 14:29, 1 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

Just an odd thought

edit

Any documentation/etc. on what Boris Karloff thought of the song especially since Pickett 'did' the song in a Karloff-like voice?

Just curious. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 04:33, 26 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

In 1965 Karloff hosted the Shindig! Halloween episode, and sang his rendition of Monster Mash. Though most of that episode survives there's about 5 minutes that's missing, and that is the Monster Mash section. I can't provide documentation of his thoughts, but it is assumed that he was amused by the song, since he agreed to do his version of it on a television show.
