Request Move
editThere is another article, Qurghonteppa Oblast, that also could be Qurghonteppa. I recommend moving the current Qurghonteppa page to Qurghonteppa city, currently a redirect to this page, and making Qurghonteppa into a disambig.David Straub (talk) 15:35, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

- Also, if moved, the target should be simply Bokhtar per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. — AjaxSmack 22:23, 3 February 2018 (UTC)
- The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.
Etymology
editThe name "Qurghonteppa" and especially its Russian version "Kurgan-Tyube" appears very Turkic ("Kurgan-Töbe" perhaps, meaning "Kurgan Peak" or "Kurgan Hill"; see KZ Aqtöbe → RU Aktyubinsk). Use of the name Bohktar
edit"Bokhtar" has since been used by numerous widely-known news organizations, and subsequently I will rename the page. Here are news articles using the name Bokhtar:
