Time warp?

edit

There's something odd about that Daily Post story about the supposed time slips. It says "last year" a woman "wanted to buy a copy of the new novel Trainspotting" at Waterstones, yet Trainspotting was published in 1993 and the story is dated 2003.

Sloppy journalist (thinking a 10-year-old book was published just a year earlier) or another time warp? ;-) 217.155.20.163 (talk) 10:59, 19 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

the newspaper sources linked to for that aspect of the article have disappeared into cyberspace. However, a quick Google for "Bold Street timeslip" shows that the legend (if that's what it is) is alive and well. A recent edit removed any mention of the matter with the comment that it was "absolute rubbish", which seems to me to be a POV edit about claims of the paranormal rather than an objective view in Wikipedia terms about what is or is not notable about Bold Street (if every street in most cities had evolved similar, consistent, urban legends, perhaps it wouldn't be notable, but it does seem to be Bold Street in Liverpool that attracts these stories, which seems to me to be notable enough to warrant a line or two in the longer article). There are reliable enough sources out there (not least the print version of the two newspaper articles - not everything has to be on line) to show that the claims have been made (without necessarily giving an endorsement of objective truth to them), so I suggest it stays in. Whether or not the stories are reliable, they are in fact popular stories about Bold Street and so probably deserve some brief mention on this page. JKeck (talk) 01:50, 29 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
never heard of them beyond the Echo about as not worth as Thomas Slemen books. --Kitchen Knife (talk) 23:11, 29 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
