This confused me as well, even when I lived there, but shouldn't "Bolton" should be "Bolton Woods"? There may be some literature calling it the former, but every Bradfordian I ever met, as well as lived there, calls it "Bolton Woods".

I'm not changing it, because I vaguely remember seeing it referred to as Bolton in some bit of council pamphlet might have. Or is that it's electoral ward name? Also I don't know how to change the titles of Wiki articles.

This is the region opposite Frizinghall, verging on Shipley, off Canal Road, right?

Erm, Yes...

  • The council ward name is Bolton & Undercliffe so this is an article about the ward.
  • Yes the area is generally known as Bolton Woods rather than just Bolton.
  • Yes this is the area on the east side of "Bradforddale", opposite Frizinghall.

Welcome to Wikipedia by the way :-)

There could easily be a separate article about Bolton Woods while that article discusses the council ward. I wrote a fair bit of this article and I just didn't know enough about this area of Bradford to say much more, it really needs expanding.

For future reference the way to change the title of the article is to click on the move link but as I've said in this instance a better option would be to create a separate article. MGSpiller 00:47, 17 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

When I lived off Bolton Road (near Peel Park) we called it Bolton. I think Bolton Woods is different. Secretlondon 12:29, 13 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

Reference style

edit

Why the undiscussed change in reference style to one which is not very helpful for section editing as you cannot preview the references? It also makes locating the references difficult as you expect to find the ref in the section that you are editing. It does reduce the clutter in the text but that about all.
