editThe first four sentences on the original article were found verbatim in a scholarly paper published in Spring 2007; however, upon looking at the history of this article, I found that these sentences were published on Wikipedia in 2006. The paper included this Wikipedia article in its references section. However, these sentences were unreferenced, as was most of the original article. I tried to locate the source the author used, but I found no conclusive results, so I rewrote the majority of the article with new sources. The images were previously included in the article. I added the Old News, Rogers, and Kesel references. I also corrected the original author's "Stopping Points.com" reference. DNMaurer (talk) 03:41, 26 October 2015 (UTC)DNMaurer
So the crevasse was 50 miles from New Orleans (it's far less than that), but the floodwaters went all the way to Gentilly (in the middle of New Orleans), yet never flowed into the lake? I cannot accept this, it's too far-fetched. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.125.161.171 (talk) 01:17, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
