YouTube links
editThis article is one of thousands on Wikipedia that have a link to YouTube in it. Based on the External links policy, most of these should probably be removed. I'm putting this message on the talk page, to request the regular editors take a look at the link and make sure it doesn't violate policy. In short: 1. 99% of the time YouTube should not be used as a source. 2. We must not link to material violating someone's copyright. If you are not sure whether the link on this article should be removed or if you would like to help spread this message, contact us on User talk:J.smith/YouTube Linklist. Thanks, ---J.S (t|c) 00:45, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
With all due respect, I believe you don't understand the nature of the information that needs to be conveyed in descriptions of dance. It's non-textual. And the best way to convey it is through video. YouTube is a reasonable repository for video; why not use it? You can always go for Google if you want. Or make people do their own (which gets you back to the same problem).
More to the point, have you ever read a description of a dance in an old dance master's manual? It takes specialists to (approximately) figure out what's going on. Information that is much more efficiently communicated through visual means.
So, relax already. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Arudnicky (talk • contribs) 23:36, August 23, 2007 (UTC).
