Merge
editI think that this article should merge with Border Region. The Border Region article just redirects to this article. It had no material. Yet it is "squatting" on the proper name for the region. No other region of the world has this name. The disambiguation page for Border can contiue to use the name for the avoidance of doubt. Laurel Lodged (talk) 20:31, 1 October 2010 (UTC)

border of what?
editThis article is missing a basic explanation of why this is called the Border Region -- border of what? And also, what is the general history of this term for this area -- how far back was it in common usage?-73.61.15.104 (talk) 23:52, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- The border between the Republic of Ireland and the region of the United Kingdom called Northern Ireland. The name is self explanatory when you look at the map but I suppose an explanation for those who can't tell might be needed. Mabuska (talk) 23:56, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- And probably since the Partition of Ireland nearly 100 years ago. Mabuska (talk) 23:57, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
