That's subjective, but I do not believe UNH has ever been a major rival for BU. Harvard and Northeastern at least play them in the Beanpot. --Jbrodkin (talk) 06:18, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

BU Hockey Rival needs major update: BU Hockey Major Hockey Rivals are BC, Maine, UNH, Cornell Hockey. Minor Rival are Harvard, Northeastern. Hockey East and NCAA Hockey rivals are BC, Maine, UNH Hockey ( BIG GUN GAMES). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Boston1ice (talkcontribs) 02:54, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Lead section is a summary of the article

edit

I have removed the details of the 2009 championship game fronm the lead for a few reasons. The article should be a summary with the specific details covered below in the appropriate sections. Also, the article should be timeless, so again, this is covered below. Anyways, Tom (talk) 05:27, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

There are two paragraphs in this article on the 1978 NCAA championship game between BU and BC. BU played Wisconsin for the national championship, in Hartford. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:6000:8742:5A00:C077:EE7F:F56B:5B8F (talk) 15:06, 11 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proper name of Boston University Terriers

edit

Someone keeps changing the page name from "Boston University Terriers" to "Boston Terriers." The most common, and correct way to refer to the team is "Boston University Terriers." Only some people in the national media use "Boston Terriers." Everyone associated with the program, and all media outlets who cover the team on a regular or semi-regular basis use "Boston University Terriers." Please do not change this again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jbrodkin (talkcontribs) 22:41, 25 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

here are further examples of Web pages and media articles referring to the team as "Boston University Terriers," the proper name. You'll see ESPN and the New York Times using "Boston University Terriers." User Djsasso said the team is "only called the Boston Terriers in the media" to justify his editing the page name. That can only be true if you exclude ESPN, the New York Times and most of the other outlets that cover the team. I've been following this team and college hockey in general for 20 years and am surprised anyone is challenging anything so basic as the team's name.

anyway here are sources, since it seems some people require them in this simple matter:
