Factual updates and additions from NRC Research Press
editI would like to request some updates and additions to this journal page. The information is taken from the NRC Research Press website[1], but is factual in nature.
- I feel that the scope of the journal is not defined clearly; the NRC Research Press website defines the scope as "all segments of plant sciences, including cell and molecular biology, ecology, mycology and plant-microbe interactions, phycology, physiology and biochemistry, structure and development, genetics, systematics, and phytogeography"[2]. So perhaps "all segments of plant science" would do? Defining the scope of the journal 'Botany' using the word "botany" seems a little silly to me.
- Papers are published ahead of print, and appear in both pdf and HTML formats.
- Canadian Botanical Association[3] and the Canadian Society of Plant Biologists[4] are affiliated with the journal.
- The editor of the journal is Christian R. Lacroix (University of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada), and should be called the editor, not the editor-in-chief. (The editor-in-chief for all NRC Research Press journals is Bruce P. Dancik[5].)
- The 2011 impact factor for 2011 is 1.251.[6]
- Botany is indexed in: BIOBASE, BIOSIS, CAB Abstracts, Crop Physiology Abstracts, Current Contents, Plant Breeding Abstracts, Plant Genetic Resources Abstracts, Review of Plant Pathology, Science Citation Index, Scopus, and more.
- The most recent cover image can be found here.
- Abstracts appear in both English and French.
