I just deleted a handful of external links promoting certain boutiques and a blog, none of which were relevant to the article. Jedidiah (talk) 17:35, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Merge from Concept store
editIt's not clear from the article what type of boutique a "concept store" actually is, but given that a couple of sources appear to support its usage, we should probably just merge it here, as a one-sentence explanation of the term. Any thoughts? --McGeddon (talk) 15:13, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- Concept Stores definately are no boutiques. They are much more like department stores but don't fit to that definition either. I do not understand, why you can't stand it just being a different, additional retail kind.
- Go to the capital's of Europe and even the US, visit some CC and you'll understand. Have a look at some of the links at {link to user's own Wordpress blog removed}...
- My suggestion: keep the article, its relevant for customers, traders, trend-scientists...

- I have no problem with them being a different type of retail outlet, and the sources you gave in the article were fine. I think it'd be better as a simple explanatory paragraph in the boutique article, that's all. If you can provide a brief explanation of a concept store that's more coherent than "like a department store but different", I wouldn't contest it being added to this article.
- (I have removed your example link to your own Wordpress blog in your last comment, as editors have expressed concern that you are primarily using Wikipedia to push this URL.) --McGeddon (talk) 16:54, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- Concept Stores are an independent retail format, as they:
1) mix up different sortiments within one store, often in unusual combinations (e.g. food and fashion, working tools and art...) 2) the sortiments are not presented in particular departments but alltogether in one store 3) don't deal with fashion only as boutiques do 4) the customer's experience is the target, not just providing goods to buy 5) there's no classical price-strategy: what matches the sortiment, is good. 5) the locations are mostly in b-areas, e.g. former not-retail locations such as industrial lofts etc.
I was hoping, my article already explained that clear enough. I was planning to add more info later (no external links ;-)), but that work would be senseless if you don't let the article exist. And: whats wrong about it? It would just deliver the right view to this particular topic, as CCs are NO boutiques. --Axkey (talk) 17:11, 23 October 2008 (UTC)
- Help, I am not as experienced as you McGeddon are: What can I do to get a response and reaction to my explanation from your side???--Axkey (talk) 22:36, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
- Your six points don't do much to distinguish "concept store" from a boutique (as defined in this article); if there are any differences, they're small enough that they should be a footnote in this article rather than an entirely separate article of their own.
- Since English does not appear to be your first language, I'll take a look at the sources and try to write a one-sentence addition to this article, when I've got time. --McGeddon (talk) 14:42, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
- I've now written it up from this source, which suggests that a "concept store" is a chain store that focuses on a particular lifestyle. (The second source you provided for the concept store article did nothing to explain what the term meant, and the third was in German, with no obvious reference to concept stores.) --McGeddon (talk) 15:08, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Boutique Winery
editNormally a small exclusive winery or 'garage winery' where grapes are bought in: but in either case, production normally does not exceed 300 or so cases. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrew Dicks (talk • contribs) 12:47, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
"The East of London has been regenerated": POV
editTo make it easy to find my justification, I'll copy my edit comment on the "POV Statement" template I just attached to the words, "the East of London has been regenerated":
- POV statement template on "the East of London has been regenerated" ... "Regenerated"? That is *flagrantly* POV (see also: "gentrified"?): it is an ideological interpretation of the *value* of what actually happened.
