Early history
I find it ludicrous that an article about the job of brand ambassador ignores an early and one of the most famous brand ambassadors, Anita Bryant. The leap from product endorsement to brand ambassador is pretty clear. This article misses the boat in section /* Evolution of brand managers to brand ambassadors */. The evolution was not from brand managers to brand ambassadors, it was from product endorsers to brand ambassadors. Early brand ambassadors were often the company's founders, such as Charles Atlas and Colonel Sanders. Anita Bryant pioneered the celebrity brand ambassador role. O. J. Simpson started out endorsing products such as Chevolet, but he became the first black brand ambassador in the U.S. when Hertz hired him in that role in 1975. I failed to mention the highly successful brand ambassador George Foreman, who was hired by the Salton Company to sell grills.--Bejnar (talk) 04:37, 27 June 2014 (UTC)
