Talk:Brandy & Mr. Whiskers

Latest comment: 9 years ago by Risssa in topic Premise section

Who the heck wrote this weird and incorrect statement?

edit

"Some Season Two episodes include a "Good-Bye, Folks" kind of ending with Brandy and Mr. Whiskers announce their show is coming to an end. The Ren and Stimpy Show and The Angry Beavers both attempted to do the same kind of thing, but the episodes were never released."

Umm... What? Ren and Stimpy and Angry Beavers did indeed air every single "Goodbye" segment. In the case of Ren and Stimpy, they were all featured on every episode of the show's entire first season. Whoever wrote this has absoutely no idea what they are even remotely talking about. "The episodes were never released". What does that even mean? It's ridiculously untrue and I'm removing it and reworking the sentance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.208.59.9 (talk) 23:18, 3 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

>>>But how do you know it's not cancelled? And is there any unaired episodes? Plz tell me!!!

Autonumbering doesn't work for broken lists

edit

Should we simply let the numbering restart for season two episodes, or should we forgo the numbered list and to it manually for all numbers so they all look the same? -- VederJuda 02:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

Claims of Ending

edit

Someone edited the guide to claim that the series was ending in August of this year, with only 30 episodes airing. I have yet to hear any news of this and since the 29th episode is airing in March, it doesn't make sense that the series would end in August of 2006 with only 30 episodes. Can someone explain where exactly the claims came from, and if the ending of the series cannot be proven, shouldn't it be removed from the synopsis?

Ok, the 30th episode is airing on March 31st, so under that logic, I don't believe the series could end in August with only 30 episodes aired. I've removed that segment from the Wikipedia article, though if anyone has any supporting logic in regards to if the series is really being cancelled, feel free to share it in this discussion page.

Controversy

edit

I have removed the section Controversy. Brandy does not say crap at all. The only thing remotely even close to that was Ed saying cramp several times.

Trivia

edit

I have removed the section Trivia. One trivia was vandalism, and the other didn't make sense at all. Wikipedian27 12:53, 27 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

I have removed the trivia section again. Trivia sections are heavily discouraged and add nothing of value to the article. AnmaFinotera 02:56, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

What the?

Fiyun 11 October 2006 Seems like someone had the "fun" to redirect and make the page to "Dracula Luther X".

Zapzoid 11 October 2006 I changed it back to the way it was, hope i did it right

Charles Adler v/o problem

edit

Did anyone notice that Billy West was brough on to replace Charles Adler as Mr. Whiskers?

This is the second time a v/o role Adler's had where he left late in the show's run (i.e.: Tiny Toon Adventures).

WAVY 10 20:22, 23 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Does anyone know what year Billy West took over this role? I would like to clarify it in his article. Stardust8212 13:46, 6 February 2007 (UTC)Reply
Billy West never took over the role. Charlie Adler voiced Whiskers in both seasons. ραncακemisτακe (talk) 19:06, 9 April 2009 (UTC)Reply
PancakeMistake is correct. Billy West never replaced Adler as the voice of Mr. Whiskers; Adler did his voice for every episode. Wikipedian314 (talk) 07:37, 5 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Episode notability

edit

Many or all of the existing individual episode pages for this series appear to fail the notability guidelines for television episodes, and have been tagged accordingly. These articles can be improved through the inclusion of real-world information from reliable sources to assert notability. Overly long plot summaries should be edited, to a maximum length of approximately ten words per minute of screen time. Trivia should be integrated into the body of the article, or removed if it is not directly relevant. Quotes and images should only be used as part of a critical analysis of the episode. You might also consider merging any notable information onto the show's "List of episodes" or season pages. Otherwise, when these pages come up for review in fourteen days, they may be redirected or merged. If you want any help or further information, then come to Wikipedia:WikiProject Television/Episode coverage. Thanks. TTN 17:53, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Brandy's breed

edit

The character description for Brandy claimed that she was a mix of spaniel, labrador, and terrier, based on the Pedigree, Schmedigree episode. However, I just watched that episode, and the document from the puppy pound just says "mixed", nothing about what breeds are in the mix. I have changed it to say "unspecified mixed breed". Can people stop deleting accurate posts for this show?!?!

edit

Plz stop deleteing accurate facts. Pretty soon they'll be no facts!!! :( If you guys hate the show, then hate it. It's cancelled, but most importantly STOP DELETING THE INFO!!!

Yo guys Season 4 and 5?

edit

Is this true or another spammer on Wiki? Plz confirm the facts to see if this person is lying...

---No, there isn't even any evidence of a season 3 being produced - and on that basis I am 99.99% certain season 4/5 will never exist. Sayargh (talk) 15:33, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Brandy's age

edit

Why do people keep changing Brandy's age? It was 15, then 13, now 14. If you have a reference for the age then provide it. Otherwise leave the age alone. Waynesewell (talk) 04:28, 31 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

--If nobody knows what her age is I move to remove it entirely, its not necessary information anyway and i'd rather not know than be reading an incorrect answerSayargh (talk) 15:37, 2 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Parody Section Removal

edit

I move this section be removed unless citations can be provided.

1) The main article has a quality requirement warning at the top of the page.

2) This section has 3 citations needed within the space of 2 sentences.

3) I don't think the information is all that relevant but thats just me.

Controversy(?)

edit

It might be quite off-topic, but... It is more than obvious that both names refer to alcoholic beverages, brandy and whisky. Doesn't it cause any controversies whatsoever? Is it just me or are we missing an important section/paragraph in this article? Galileo01 (talk) 09:09, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

LOL, it looks like you're reading way too much into it. In any case, unless a reliable source can be found to verify the information, it really doesn't matter and can't be included as original research. --132 01:56, 14 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Nationalities

edit

Some anonymous person insists on giving the characters "nationalities". Some of the "nationalities", such as Dutch for Whiskers and Japanese for Ed, appear to have been pulled out of thin air (or perhaps an anal orifice). Some of the characters merely speak with accents, which is all that needs to be said. We know that Brandy originally came from the US. We do not know the actual nationality of anyone else, merely know they now live in Brazil, so please don't add junk not specified by the show's designers. If Whiskers was said to be Dutch in the show, please provide the episode. If not, leave it alone. Waynesewell (talk) 15:28, 15 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Brandy and Mr. Whiskers coming to Cartoon Network?

edit

Is this just a rummer or can it be proven? I've sreached Cartoon Network's website and there's no mention. I've scanned through Cartoon Network looking for commercials about this and can't find any. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.170.238.219 (talk) 19:29, 3 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

Premise section

edit

The "Premise" section only had dates so I took it out. I thought I could move that to the lead section but it duplicates that part. This article still needs a section about the series (see comments above in orange). This is what was there before: "The first season of Brandy & Mr. Whiskers began in 2003 and ended in 2005. Production for the second season began in 2004 and ended in 2006. Season 2 was the last season; its episodes aired from February 2006 to August 2006."

The article also needs a section under "Reception" with information and references from critics and the public. Rissa, Guild of Copy Editors (talk) 20:17, 6 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
