Birth date & full name
editThe 2nd Octobre 1971 is correct, birth City is Memphis, and full name is Brent Anthony Renaud. Source Source — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:DF:6741:86F7:A819:1631:BAFE:3736 (talk) 15:10, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
the correct date of birth + a not correct link
edit1) B.R. was born the 2 of oct. (not 13) as you can read in many serious medias. 2) Your link (footnote 1) goes to a "nonsense" site. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:EC:DF03:9F86:9183:6747:9FB:1F39 (talk) 17:21, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Now in the correction is only "october" (without 2)... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Caita Azpiri (talk • contribs) 02:59, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Please change "while covering" to "during" (x2). Sources clearly state that there was some initial confusion and the matter doesn't seem clear yet. 176.247.203.10 (talk) 19:14, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
Not done. The statement is sourced. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:55, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it was sourced and failed verification, that was kind of the point. 176.247.165.235 (talk) 01:11, 15 March 2022 (UTC)

Known from a single event, should be deleted
editHis death is a sad thing, but this article is created today, clearly showing that he is not known from other events, should be deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.82.3.233 (talk) 23:24, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- Fair point. I suppose the question is whether the fact that he is the first reported journalist to be killed in the Ukraine War of itself makes him notable. Does anyone know of any Wikipedia Policies which might be of guidance here? Research17 (talk) 23:37, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- It's not clear which single event you refer to. Was it having his work shown on national television? Or becoming a Nieman Fellow? Or winning a Peabody Award? Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 10:59, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
Picture
editIs it appropriate to put his passport bio page on wiki? Usually we use headshots? Mikiko609 (talk) 23:48, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- The whole passport bio page is not "on wiki"? It's only the (very poor quality) image of his face (which is a "headshot")? Martinevans123 (talk) 11:11, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- Take a look at the version of the article as it was at the time of the OP's query. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 13:51, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for clarifying. Martinevans123 (talk) 13:55, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Date of birth
editHere is the image of his passport, currently previously used to source his main image in the infobox: [1]. As noted in the article, the date of birth is clearly "October 2, 1971". How is it possible for his passport to be wrong? How often do US passports get someone's date of birth wrong? Thanks. Martinevans123 (talk) 11:09, 14 March 2022 (UTC)

Take out Wikidata and put infobox
editI´ve been thinking lately but i wanted to discuss it with you guys. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2ofthe22ofthe2022 (talk • contribs) 19:58, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
- I agree that the article should use the standard Infobox person, rather than the Wikidata version. — Goszei (talk) 06:53, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- Why should it use the static Wikipedia inofobox, rather than the Wikidata-based one? This allows to have the latest data available when it is added to Wikidata; and thus contributing to all projects, not only the English Wikipedia. For example the French, Spanish, Ukrainian, or Portuguese wikis currently use a similar system on their page. --BaptisteGrandGrand (talk) 12:06, 16 March 2022 (UTC)

Craig Renaud
editAs an observer, I've noticed that the red linking of Craig Renaud has been a subject of contention. For anyone willing/interested in creating an article about him, here's a handful of sources I found:

Whilst none of these seem to indicate much in the way of notability, I'm sure better sources could be found by way of a more in-depth search. Sean Stephens (talk) 06:28, 21 March 2022 (UTC)
