Ideas to add to the article and list of possible sources
editI will be working on Brett Reichman's Wikipedia page for a class project in CSUEB. I would like to discuss Reichman's early works vs. his more recent works and how his art has/hasn't changed. This discussion should tie into how the AIDS epidemic has inspired his art pieces.
I will be emailing certain reviewers of Brett Reichman's works regarding where they published their essays/reviews. For now, you may view their essays on http://brettreichman.com/essays_reviews.html.
UPDATE: I have tried to email Daniel Semaniego, but have not gotten a response yet regarding where he has published his essay on "Pink Thing". If anyone else knows where he has published the essay, please feel free to include it in the talk page. Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Studentandre (talk • contribs) 17:28, 1 November 2017 (UTC)
An article about Brett Reichman's art exhibit at the Rena Bransten Gallery, San Francisco by Maria Porges. Porges, Maria. Sep 1997. Artforum international, Vol.36(1), p.130. https://www.artforum.com/
Please give possible feedback.Studentandre (talk) 03:30, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
I added some sentences to conclude the first paragraph. I decided to briefly mention the ban on funding AIDS art in 1989 in order to give an example of Reichman's works during that time. I also thought it was necessary to mention the ban because it showed that Reichman's early works weren't so straightforward and depicting of the AIDS epidemic. His works had to be subtle due to the ban on AIDS art.
I added a few sentences at the end of the second paragraph. Before my additions, the paragraph talks about Reichman's use of his own furniture and such that are presented in his art. The sentences I included talks about a specific example of this use so the public can get an idea of how he uses this idea of incorporating his own furniture into his work.
I may eventually add a paragraph comparing his early works to his later works. My recent additions to Reichman's article page somewhat shows how his art has developed/changed. More on this as I do more research. Studentandre (talk) 00:57, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
FEEDBACK:
(talk) The information you have provided seems to flow with the article, the information is not biased. As well as it is good information you have provided. Try and find more references. Yasmejia (talk) 06:25, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for the feedback. I have added two more sources that mention Reichman's early works using the theme of loss innocence and how this ties into him being part of the gay community during the AIDS epidemic. I also organized the article page by including headings.Studentandre (talk) 23:20, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
Adding onto Brett Reichman's works' narratives
editI am also adding on to Brett Reichman's wikipedia page as a CSUEB assignment. I want to further discuss his use of mid-century furniture, and its relation to Reichman's interpretation of gay space.
I will include this article as a source: http://cb1gallery.com/project/brett-reichman-better-living-through-design/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by JuslopezCSUEB (talk • contribs) 01:21, 2 November 2017 (UTC)
