Phi Kappa Psi
editI don't think Brian Hasting's membership with the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity has any relevance with why he has a Wikipedia article; He is known as a competitive poker player. With this information removed, I believe Hastings is still notable enough to have an article. JaeDyWolf ~ Baka-San (talk) 02:12, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- Will give this some thought; it was included specifically because the ESPN.com piece noted that membership in that group was part of the life balance which was aiding in his success. --Coldplay3332 (talk) 20:43, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
- Went back and read the ESPN.com piece, thinking I confused it with another interview; it is pretty clear on the fraternity/club reference. Remember, 'notability' is to establish the topic; once the topic is established (poker), there may be other tangential material of interest that goes into an article. The fact that he is from Pennsylvania, for instance, is tangential to 'poker', but it is still if of use. Remember, not everyone who reads Wikipedia plays poker. Thanks for your help, though; like the intro changes. May look for some balancing cites on the Isildur thing.--Coldplay3332 (talk) 01:57, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- I appreciate that it's helped in his life balance, now that that is why it's mentioned. It had looked to me like it was a completely separate piece of information, in its own section. Perhaps it could be better mentioned in the paragraph as to how he views Poker in accordance with his life? No trouble about the structural changes; it seems to be the thing I'm best at doing! - Will do; thanks for both your comments. --Cmagha (talk) 09:42, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
