Here is a reference regarding the NT opening hand strengths for BBO basic bidding. Unlike SAYC or other bidding systems, this is a simplified system, and point values throughout the bidding system are always shown by the bidding and responding.

Thanks for the reference. I've read that before, but it still sounds technically inaccurate to say that they're 'always' a certain level (due to what I have mentioned before about auctions such as 1-2-?. And for 13-15 and 18-19, '1NT' and '2NT' aren't specified, only 'non-jump rebid' and 'jump rebid', so would it be a good idea to not say it's always 1 and 2NT, respectively? And how would you rebid if you opened 2, heard 3 or 3 from partner, and wanted to show a balanced hand with 22-24 HCP? Or is that impossible in Bridge Base Basic? I prefer to keep things simple, but I've changed the balanced hand part again, perhaps you will find the latest a good compromise. mbbradford 19:21, 16 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Responder maximum hand

The section on responding with a maximum hand is incomplete and a bit confusing. What if i don't have support for partner's suit? what if i don't have a "feature" to show to my partner (4333, 4432). It also says "Do not bid another 4 card suit" but then in the NT section it says to only bid 2NT if you have no 4 card bid to make. Thanks. Jieagles (talk) 05:29, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

I changed the article, removing the confusing part which seemed to conflict. Please make additional changes if you see fit. Thanks, mbbradford 14:56, 7 July 2008 (UTC)Reply
