Wrong image?

@RetiredDuke: Ponte do Rio Ave (Q7228162) has an image, which is definitely not a mediaeval bridge. Is there a mistake here? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 18:25, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply

@MSGJ: OK, so. I've been working around a number of Portuguese bridges trying to ascertain notability after a AFD nomination. The thing with this particular article was that it was even more vague than the usual, with no picture, description, coordinates or corresponding Portuguese article (I don't work with Wikidata so I did not see the picture). And then a very generic name on top (meaning bridge above river Ave). So I set out to find a bridge in Vila do Conde above River Ave that satisfied notability concerns. I genuinely thought that D. Zameiro was the one and the article name was a mistake from days long past, but now I see (with the help of Wikidata) that there is indeed a modern bridge named River Ave Bridge. Thing is, I can't find relevant sources for that modern bridge, it's extremely generic. We can probably move the article to River Ave Bridge, revert my changes and redirect to List of bridges in Portugal to keep the history intact. Then I can start a D. Zameiro Bridge article later with the sources I found. Sorry, my mistake. RetiredDuke (talk) 21:20, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
This article really made no sense from the get go, it listed the bridge as being in Braga district when Vila do Conde is in Porto district. RetiredDuke (talk) 21:35, 29 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes I think your suggested approach is the way to go because that Wikidata item is attached to commons:Category:Ponte do Rio Ave (Vila do Conde) which is definitely the modern bridge. It is also using the name Vila do Conde — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 07:55, 30 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
@MSGJ: Well, now both the content and article name match the Wikidata item and the article history. I'll try to find more sources for this article in the coming days but I'm not very hopeful. RetiredDuke (talk) 14:37, 30 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
