as i understand it bunting's spelling is deliberately wrong, to distinguish his autobiographical/fictional place from the real place. don't have a source for this to hand tho   bsnowball  09:05, 1 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Ah, what you're saying is that the long poem Briggflatts (1966) doesn't mention the meeting house, just the hamlet of Briggflatts. However, there is a second Bunting poem, "At Briggflatts meetinghouse" (1975), which is about the meeting house of this article. Looking at the link you gave, and a reference at the Basil Bunting Poetry Centre [1], the spelling in the poem title appears to be "Briggflatts". I'm making this change, add improving the links a bit. If you can find a reference for the Bunting spelling and local spelling, that would be a great addition to the article. --Jdlh | Talk 19:12, 1 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
