Is there anyone who actually goes to BBC and is editing this page? Carrioncrows 10:02, 23 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

hi there - i've been student at the BBC a few years ago and would have edited this artcle if there was any untruth in it ;) the article isn't very detailed but o.k. -- German-User:Brisbane
Yeah, I'm a current student. I haven't added anything (much) to the article other than the front gate picture; someone else (presumably from the school) is editing it all. SMC 00:53, 26 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

Very poor article

edit

This article reads like it was written by members of the school itself, with no attempts at all to hide this. You should be ashamed. I am removing many of the stupid comments.

1995 seems to be missing from the list of headmasters...Kiran90 08:58, 13 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Good point. I'll look into it. SMC 11:01, 14 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The college hymn has been rewritten with a Muslim theme. It's a Christian school with links to the Uniting church. The college war cry is also incorrect. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ether0580 (talkcontribs) 13:32, 6 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Assessment

edit

This article has now been assessed following a request. The feedback from this was as follows: A good article with a high level of encyclopedic content. However it does have some weaknesses; many sections lack references and others need expanding, such as "Cultural". Some extra pictures would also be great. Fair use rationale for Image:BBClogo.JPG

edit

Image:BBClogo.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:59, 1 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

GA Review

edit
This review is transcluded from Talk:Brisbane Boys' College/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the review.

The lead section should have more of a summary from each section below. The Headmasters section should provide more content than a table. Eg, was there any significant influence, new rules or changes brought by any of them. The number of references is good but they should be formatted better with titles (not just bare urls), publisher and access date. It would be better for the bulleted lists to be converted into prose. The current images are good, although a couple more would be better, photos of the Toowong campus, sports fields and its new buildings for example. If these items were tended to, a few minor readability improvements were made and each section was expanded a little bit more then it would be a good article. I hope that helps as this is my first GA Review.

Hi, I've been looking for your GA checklist template, and the on-hold sign in the GA reviews list, as I was intending to review this. You got here first, but if you need any support don't hesitate to ask.--Kudpung (talk) 23:20, 7 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

Per original reviewer, article was placed on hold and not ready for GA. (See my talk page). No modifications have been made since original review. Failing article for now and encouraging renomination once comments have been addressed. Nasty Housecat (talk) 22:55, 12 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

This section is excessively long and makes the page look quite untidy, I suggest it be split to resemble List of Nudgee College Old Boys. JRA_WestyQld2 Talk 07:16, 19 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

I think the list could be mercilessly cut down if we were to enact a policy of removing redlinks. Failing that, yep, a split would be a good idea. SMC (talk) 08:17, 20 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Crapload of redlinks, anyway, created new page, this one looks a lot tidier now. JRA_WestyQld2 Talk 00:44, 9 March 2010 (UTC)Reply
