Earlier foundations of the BAPA?
editWhile surfing the net, I've found references to the BAPA in 1890, 1945/46 and 1972. Is it possible that the BAPA has been founded or refounded several times? Mpntod 09:56, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)
Yes, we need to create an article about that older organisation the British Amateur Press Association.—Theo (Talk) 13:22, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC)
- I have moved BAPA here and made BAPA a disambig page. Maias 07:23, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- I concur: it's much clearer now. Ghostwords 16:21 16 September 2007
Split
editThis appears to be two stubs about entirely unrelated organisations that happen to have the same name, joined together on a single page. It would make more sense to have two separate articles. --R'n'B (call me Russ) 09:25, 23 September 2010 (UTC)

BAPA and a Woman's magazine
editIn the 1960s, there was something about an article about BAPA appearing in one of the mainstream Women's magazines of the period that gave details of membership being available. There was a massive influx of membership of women who had seen the article and decided to join. It is possible that the size of the membership increased in a short period of time to many times what it had been before the article appeared. As copies of mainstream Women's magazines of the period may be archived somewhere it may be possible to locate the article, though that might take some searching. Probably in or after 1964.
