Notability
editI was wondering, from reading the article, how notable the website is. The references only refer to the subject's own website. If the awards are important then surely they should have some mainstream press interest. Are there any quotes from the award recipients that can be used? Are there news sources reporting on the awards when they are announced? Are they even recognised as a valuable and important award? Have they entered the public conciousness? I live the in UK and have never heard of the awards at all. Perhaps someone needs to look into the subject and provide some credible sources. Howie ☎ 02:05, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- It is becoming more notable. Although the website has yet to get much in the way of mainstream media coverage. As far as I know, the only media coverage the awards have got is from the QI website and I was the one who covered the stories. It may well get more coverage in the future. The BBC Comedy website links to the guide so it is possible they might cover the awards next January. The guide is however notable for providing guides for some several obscure shows such as those on radio, and the guide plans to cover all British comedy, as is seen in the website's overview. It is used as a reference for several good articles and featured works. ISD (talk) 06:26, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
- I have seen the website awards mentioned in a few places - for example the BBC Tickets office has used the awards to publicise the recordings of Laura Solon's show and Bleak Expectations. Disclosure: I voted in the 2008 awards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.43.136.207 (talk) 09:03, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
