editThe article claims that Woodard died of AIDS in 1980, but at the time of his death, the disease had not even been reported in medical literature (see Origin of AIDS). The disease obviously had to exist before it could be recognized by medical science, but a 1980 death would be unusually early for someone to die of AIDS in the United States.
