Deletion

There have been many other internet slang documented in Wikipedia. For example, Redditor for Reddit, Goon for Something Awful, /b/tard for 4chan's /b/. "Brony" doesn't have to be its own page, but the disambiguation can simply link to My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic#Internet_following. Considering the alternative is an extremely small city in the middle of Poland, most people who search for "Brony" will be more likely to have been searching for My Little Pony (as seen with the recent vandalism). --ExBoop (talk) 13:10, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

Is it better to link to the village in the My Little Pony article, or vice versa? I think it would be better to put a link to MLP:FIM at the top of the village article, because in the MLP:FIM article there is no definitive spot for "bronies," and otherwise would look out of place. --ExBoop (talk) 13:24, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

I'm a little late to the party, but wouldn't it make much more sense to link people directly to the brony section of the FIM article, and at the top of that section (or the page), there'd be a link to Brony, Poland? How can a place with a population of 80 people even be notable enough for Wikipedia? This isn't an atlas or whatever as far as I know, and there isn't anything besides basic geographic and demographic information on the page... ~Bobogoobo (talk) 01:30, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

There are tens of thousands of "Polish village" articles on Wikipedia. Most of them were created by a bot that pulled data from certain databases and formed it into an article. As the bot's importing was approved by Wikipedia editors, I don't feel that we can suddenly impose conditions on what makes the cut. Although hamlets like Brony certainly aren't notable, there's not much we can do.

By the way, I looked at the article stats on http://stats.grok.se (a website that graphs hits on articles). Prior to the airing of "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", this page got about 5-6 views a day. The upward climb in views began the day the television show premiered (October 10th, 2010). And now, it receives about 100 views a day. It's only really viewed because of the television fandom. Marechal Ney (talk) 07:18, 7 January 2013 (UTC)
