Talk:Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway/Archive 2008-2009

PC release date

The PC version's release date seems to be October 7th according to some sites. On Steam, it is being released on Oct 8. --142.161.213.251 (talk) 18:47, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, it's here: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/brothersinarms3/index.html Harryema (talk) 18:10, 1 October 2008 (UTC)

Character Section

Could someone concerned enough about this game with past junior-high grade writing skills give that section a revamp? Really, the Provides monologues throughout the game could put off any qualified English teacher. Do they actually take a break and have the character speaking through the fourth wall about how he felt about the breakfast ration and future outlook? i suppose the word here is narration, or really any other word that applies to the context, though certainly, not monologue. With regards to the section I removed

I figured I should mention on here, the reason that I removed that section about the whole "places a camera inside a third person character" thing. As I stated when I originally removed it, on the 3rd of September, this game is not the first FPS to do that. Off the top of my head, without having much sleep lately, I can think of two others. Jurassic Park: Trespasser, and Chronicles of Riddick, both of which preceded this game by numerous years. And besides, suggesting that all other first person games are "just a gun stuck inside a camera floating around" is nonsense, and probably unencyclopedic. --Dreaded Walrus 06:10, 15 September 2006 (UTC)

I concur. "Just a gun stuck inside a camera floating around" seems a bit unprofessional.. Loki at6 06:03, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Just thought I mentioned that Randy Pitchford himself said that the Camera inside a Head was his Idea so i think we should add it back in or at least explain that you can see your feet, count your grenades/magazines just by looking down. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.118.173.122 (talk) 02:44:55, August 19, 2007 (UTC)

Wow, you can do that? I was wondering how you'd count your ammo! very nice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Loki at6 (talkcontribs) 03:47, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Relase date

I've read that BIA HH has been pushed back even farther. April 2007 to March 2008. From what I've read on the gearbox fourms —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.49.125.219 (talk) 16:20, 22 January 2007 (UTC).

No way has this been pushed to 2008

As far as I know, it has not officially been confirmed but I see a lot of sites stating November 16, 2007. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 12.45.66.201 (talk) 17:53, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Release date

The page still says March 2007 for Xbox360 but on the side, it says November. I changed March to November. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.68.199.101 (talk) 16:58, 10 March 2007 (UTC).

Wrong Release Date

Neither Ubisoft nor Gearbox has actually announced a specific release date for this game so it is beyond me why someone keeps changing the release date to March 31st. Furthermore a March 31st release is highly unlikely considering the fact that that is 4 days away and there hasn't been any advertising for the game. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 147.97.129.227 (talk) 00:36, 28 March 2007 (UTC).

Confirmed Facts-Edited

I changed that the deaths of Garnett and Allen were a mystery. They weren't. If you've played the last two games, you will see them perish.

The mystery doesn't lie in the fact that they have been killed, but rather that we don't know exactly what happened. The previews for BIA: HH claim that the exact events preceding their deaths will be told, rather than just witnessing their deaths. Poor Leggett, he's so hopelessLoki at6 06:05, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Re-formatting Of The Page

I am wondering who reformatted this page from its original layout, and why they did it. Although the information is there, it is no longer in any good order. I recommend reverting it, or at least making it have some form of chronology or readability, rather than just random points jotted down. 144.139.121.93 16:40, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I agree. The page is disorganized and very difficult to look for specific information. Somebody please change this.--Joseg70 17:22, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Nobody's changed it yet.. it's been 3 months! I would do it, but I don't think I have the html skills etc. I suppose it can wait until the game actually comes out (which still looks to be a while!). Once it's released I expect this page will change entirely. Loki at6 07:37, 15 October 2007 (UTC)

I have added some extra information. I wasn't sure how to turn the rumoured/confirmed features part into something more readable, so I left it for now. I added the History/Setting and Characters.. edited the intro and such. If anyone could provide extra information on the Characters it would be appreciated. I tried to add a picture to the information box at the side, but I wasn't sure how to. If someone could make that work I would appreciate that also.--217.23.229.194 (talk) 13:39, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

ESRB rating.

Searched the ESRB website and found nothing on Hells Highway being rated M, i changed it to Rating Pending. Kennyb08 (talk) 06:13, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

No cross platform in features list?

Why is PS3 to PC cross platform multiplayer not listed as one of the features? Or anywhere in the whole article, actually? And launch date is now June 3rd, 2008 and for all systems. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.207.82.237 (talk) 17:05, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

There's PC to PS3 multiplayer? News to me. 12.227.198.107 (talk) 03:06, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
There is no such thing as PS3 to PC cross-platform play. There is, however, Live Anywhere, but I don't know if it is in this game. Either way, Live Anywhere is between Windows PCs and Xbox 360s. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.227.93.72 (talk) 18:28, 5 July 2008 (UTC)

How can the release date be June 3rd when it is July 1st and it still isn't out. If you claim a release date, provide a reference.58.6.240.108 (talk) 09:55, 1 July 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Wmplayer 2006-08-29 19-31-52-43.JPG

Image:Wmplayer 2006-08-29 19-31-52-43.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Lady in Advertisements

Who was the lady in the advertisements? Was it Marilyn Monroe, or Hitlers wife or what? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.183.60.33 (talk) 01:51, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

If you checked their official website, it says it was axis sally. a propeganda radio host who taunted the americans during WW2 and explained many negaitive things about her. Axis Sally was her name i think... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.30.91.10 (talk) 23:55, 2 October 2008 (UTC)

She liked to broadcast to allied troops how they were gonna die, i think from what i heard.--Jakezing (talk) 16:22, 4 October 2008 (UTC)

Dumb Redirection

Well, I wanted to find out more about "Hell's Highway" and so I typed it in. Where did it lead me to? To a video game. Great... sure, I do play Brothers in Arms and in fact this game is the reason why I wanted to find out more about the real Hell's Highway but seriously: That's ridiculous. Even if there's no specific article about Hell's Highway: This term definetely should lead me to an article about the Hell's Highway and not to an article about a video game by this name. Of course I knew that I had to check "Operation Market Garden" for more information but this may not be obvious to everyone. So could someone redirect "Hell's Highway" to "Operation Market Garden"? I mean: This is an encyclopedia for God's sake... you know what I mean, right? --F4LL0UT (talk) 17:48, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Done, but someone should have taken care of this a long time ago. The historical Market Garden road is the primary meaning of the term, not the game. -- Sabre (talk) 00:42, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
