Who wrote these linked pages?

"Bruce Faulconer received advanced musical training in composition at the University of Texas with composers Hunter Johnson, Karl Korte, Joseph Schwantner, and Eugene Kurtz." All of those four names have wiki pages for some reason. Schwantner has a Pulitzer prize and I think that is a primary cause of notability. He's also pretty well-known. - kosboot (talk) 02:13, 1 August 2022 (UTC)

Press coverage of article deletion

This article and its deletion were the subject of an article by Ted Gioia, "How a Prominent Composer Lost His Wikipedia Page—and Got Entangled in Kafkaesque Nightmare Trying to Get it Back: Bruce Faulconer deserves better, but the system seems rigged against him."

Expanded article

I noticed the complaint put in by Ted Gioia, and knowing Gioia to usually be an exceptionally resourceful music writer, I decided to look into it. Initially it did look as if the coverage of this composer is poor. He doesn't have an article in a traditional encyclopedia like you would expect for many composers. True. However, looking into it extensively there is enough coverage in lots of sources when you dig deep enough in to make an article appropriate in my opinion. If it was based purely on his work for Dragon Z and that was his sole work, then it might be appropriate to direct, but it is impossible to ignore the fact that his works have been performed by major orchestras not only in the US but Europe, and his works for viola are even listed on here alongside the likes of esteemed composers like Morton Feldman. I hope given time more publications, perhaps even Gioia himself will publish more material about this composer which can be used to further improve the article and make it even more encyclopedic. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:48, 28 July 2022 (UTC)

What about it? That comment was posted before I found sources written about him. Enough sources were found about Faulconer in the newspaper databases to make this acceptable. Why are you suddenly complaining now?♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:21, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
