Proposal to rename: Bucyrus-Erie

edit

Given that the company is now officially defunct for several years and has no "official name", would anyone object to renaming the article to the most historically significant name of the company, Bucyrus-Erie (the name it held from 1927-1996)? Morgan Riley (talk) 06:37, 5 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

That seems ok to me; B-E has been well known. The "International" was always just corporate-speak. --R. S. Shaw (talk) 07:10, 8 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

History?

edit

I am curious to know if anyone may know enough history about this company to know about when it's building(s) burned down and they lost all of there paperwork, files, drawings etc. If my information is correct my great grandfather worked for them when this happened. Railroads used cranes (and occasionally still do); Bucyrus-Erie was a major manufacturer

edit

The article might be improved by mentioning cranes used by railroads. Here is a website showing pictures of cranes made by Bucyrus-Erie and competitors. Oaklandguy (talk) 08:33, 25 February 2020 (UTC)Reply
