Year of birth
editThere are conflicting years of birth. MLB.com, baseballcube, and fangraphs list 1920, and that year is reflected in the article. Baseball-reference.com lists 1919.

- Rechecked today and unchanged since my December 2018 post. I did check Find-A-Grave (although it is not a reliable source), and their picture of the grave marker indicated 1919.[1] His obituary age (92) indicates a 1919 birth year.[2] Therefore, on the basis of the 2 reliable sources (baseball-reference.com and retrosheet.org) and his obituary and the picture of his grave marker, I will be bold and change his birth year to 1919.
