Flying Buddha Records
editIn 2013, Flying Buddha Records was launched which is being handled by Sony Masterworks. Still looking for more info besides the citations I found already. Steelbeard1 (talk) 15:15, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
- Flying Buddha only has a similar name to the Buddah/Buddha records label. It has none of the same artists, releases, back catalog, personnel, label executives, or anything else related to the subject of this article. Being owned by the same top-level label does not make the two related for purposes of this article. MSJapan (talk) 02:58, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- MSJapan is correct. The information must not be included in the article unless a clear connection is made. So far it hasn't. Afterwriting (talk) 16:15, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
Buddah/Buddha
edit>Buddah, now known as Buddha Records (a more correct spelling)
Is there any information on the name change, why it happened and when?
It is not a more correct spelling, a buddha in Buddhism is spelled buddha, there are no variants. The record company was not misspelling a word, it was a different word to sound like Buddha but not offend. They did not use an image of the Buddha, either. The present name and image would be found offensive by the original founders. (I realise the image is not of the historical Buddha, but presumably of Budai 布袋 Bố Đại in Vietnamese a Chinese folkloric deity.)
