Move discussion in progress

edit

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Budweiser (Anheuser-Busch) which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 13:29, 28 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Before you two edit war further, I suggest you read WP:MOSDAB. The guideline clearly states the primary topic should be listed atop the page, and not with the rest of the entries. Calidum Talk To Me 17:05, 9 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

User:Calidum you're being extremely biased. What made the American Budweiser the PRIMARY topic of this page?69.116.183.192 (talk) 04:24, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply
Talk:Budweiser#Requested_move established the AB brand as the primary topic. -- Calidum 04:27, 29 December 2014 (UTC)Reply

Exactly how can a fake be the primary topic and the original be the rest of the entries? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.212.36.193 (talk) 08:12, 19 April 2016 (UTC)Reply

Talk:Budweiser#Requested_move had consensus determining that the AB product should be the primary topic, under the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC guideline based on usage "if it is highly likely—much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term". Those who argued based on long-term significance were apparently in the minority. Zzyzx11 (talk) 02:41, 8 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Is Wikipedia promoting trademarks? Advertisement?

edit

I looked on the Budweiser page were the talk is all about a trademark about Anheuser & Busch. Is Wikipedia now in advertising? Promoting trademarks? Taking sides in trade disputes?

Why not start this Budweiser (disambiguation) with the definition: A person or product from Budweis, also known as České Budějovice the most logical start, the rest would be secondary.Jochum (talk) 14:53, 5 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

This had nothing to do with promoting or advertising anything. First, a 2014 discussion now archived at Talk:Budweiser#Requested_move had consensus determining that the AB product should be the primary topic, under the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC guideline based on usage "if it is highly likely—much more likely than any other single topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term". The WP:DABPRIMARY guideline then therefore recommends a link back to the primary topic appear at the top because "it is unlikely that this primary topic is what readers are looking for if they have reached the disambiguation page, it should not be mixed in with the other links".
