This is the first time I got such detailed pictures and could illustrate it so lavishly. Comments please. AshLin 17:06, 24 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Classification

edit

Looks like this one's going to be called Amphiesma stolata after all: "Amphiesma stolata". Integrated Taxonomic Information System. 5 August. {{cite web}}: Check date values in: |date= and |year= / |date= mismatch (help) McDiarmid's second volume isn't out yet, but apparently stolata takes precedence over stolatum in his 2004 draft. The EMBL also agrees: Species Amphiesma stolatum at The Reptile Database .

McDiarmid's 1999 checklist, "Snake Species of the World: A Taxonomic and Geographic Reference, vol. 1," is what ITIS uses for its classification of snakes. It's been described as the most significant reference work since Boulenger's 1893-1896 checklist, "Catalogue of the Snakes in the British Museum," and is about as authoritative as you can get these days.

Otherwise the article looks okay... except that you need to cite your references (not just list them). If you've seen any of my work, you'll know that I'm pretty fanatic about this, but in my opinion it's the best way (and our only option) to convince readers that they should take our articles seriously. This is currently an important issue, as Wikipedia recently received a lot of criticism for not being accurate enough. --Jwinius 12:43, 5 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I've marked this as in need of attention. With inline citations, this article could very well be a GA candidate. J. Hall(Talk) 16:19, 27 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
