Article tone and content
editThe article has a lot conjectural, pro-Verano, pro-Buick, advertising type content that does not meet Wikipedia guidelines:
- The Verano will be Buick's smallest, most affordable vehicle sold in North America. (unref'd)
- General Motors predicts that the Verano will attract younger buyers, including many from non-General Motors brands. (unref'd
- Lyon made the Verano recognizable as a contemporary Buick by employing Buick's key design cues of a waterfall grille, ventiports and taught styling. (Ref'd but not notable, conjectural)
- Buick considered using a historical Buick vehicle name, but found that Verano was easy to pronounce and fit the vehicle and the Buick brand. Buick believes that Verano has a fresh, trendy, upscale sound and will help support Buick's efforts to attract new, younger customers.(pure hype)
- Buick hopes to lure buyers away from import brands and cites the Audi A3, Lexus IS250 and Volvo S40 as competitors.(pure pro-Buick hype) 842U (talk) 10:44, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- The article has a lot of fact based, properly sourced information that reflects content published by reliable sources and does a good job of following Wikipedia's guidelines. This article's tone, content and sourcing are fine. A careful look at each of the cited sources (including those in the historical versions) demonstrates that this article consists of properly referenced material from reliable sources in the automotive press. If an editor feels that the article could be better balanced by including contrary viewpoints, that editor needs to find that information in reliable sources and improve the article by adding it. This article, like all others in Wikipedia, should be centered around the events and statements recorded in reliable sources, not 842U's or any other editor's opinions.67.42.92.17 (talk) 04:37, 3 August 2011 (UTC)
- On the contrary; the information that's been deleted was largely conjectural and heavily biased toward the subject of the article. Wikipedia guidelines call for a neutral point of view.842U (talk) 09:16, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- You continue to present your point of view as fact, but it is merely your opinion. You have incorrectly stated that certain information is not supported by references, which is contrary to fact. You are censoring information based on opinion, and trying to support your improper position by falsely stating that factual information is not factual. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.37.36.166 (talk) 23:23, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
- How odd that editors would join Wikipedia and immediately start in a discussion on this car — and with such a strong point of view, no less. Be sure to avoid 3RR, and please avoid edit warring. If using anonymous logins is a way to edit war, then please reconsider discussing the article further and consider reading wp:BRD. 842U (talk) 11:24, 8 August 2011 (UTC)
