Citations

I'm pretty sure the article could do with some citations and references. For my part, the edits I have made have all been based on the contents of the lessons and the introduction pages of the first Buntús Cainte book. I'm not all that sure how best to cite it though. The Gael Linn connection need adding in a historical section, as does the fact that it started as a booklet plus record and casette. The CD is much newer. You need to use the appropriate citation templates per WP:CT and fill in all the details from the book you used including page numbers. I added 2 web citations for starters. Start-class is about it for now and the importance seems ok at low, though mid-importance might be possible if the article could show it has more importance than it does now. ww2censor (talk) 05:03, 4 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the input. I hadn't been able to find info on citations (I'm very new to wikipedia editing) so thanks for that link. I can't say I'd thought much about the importance, it probably is low generally - though I suppose it did/does play a fair bit in people learning the language. Most of my older relatives have commented that they remember learning from it when I mention that I'm using Buntús Cainte so it probably has a reasonably widespread influence. I'm not sure if that would rank it as "Mid" importance - and I'm certain that little anecdote about it would not be enough to get it there! Jack of Many (talk) 12:07, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Gael Linn

ww2censor suggested "The Gael Linn connection needs adding in a historical section." I'm not at all familiar with that aspect of Buntús Cainte so would appreciate any links to reliable sources. I'm happy to compile in information for the article but help getting started would be appreciated. Jack of Many (talk) 12:40, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Historical

I've just read an article at http://www.independent.ie/unsorted/features/buntus-cainte-129891.html which says Buntús Cainte was first a series of books, later an RTE program and now the current series of books with CDs. Is anyone aware of other sources which might confirm that and provide more reliable citations than a newspaper? Jack of Many (talk) 12:40, 5 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
