editSimilar article already deleted once last week for lack of sources/advertising. An article on the building's history might be notable (without the advertorial) if independent, reliable sources can be found. Harry the Dog WOOF 18:49, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
Contested deletion
editThis page is not unambiguously promotional, because... I live in West London and have been to this venue several times and was surprised nobody has ever wrote about it, because this is my first time writing about I was taking inspiration from articles like 100 Club and Royal Albert Hall and Barbican which state similar things and which to me is written in more promotional text than my article e.g " * Barbican Hall: capacity 1,949; home of the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra.
* Barbican Theatre: capacity 1,166 * The Pit: flexible 200-seat theatre venue * Barbican Art Gallery and the free new-commission gallery The Curve * Barbican Film – 3 cinema screens with seating capacity of 288, 255 and 155 * Informal performance spaces * Restaurants: 3 * Conference halls: 7 * Trade exhibition halls: 2
The second-floor library is one of the five City of London libraries. It is one of the largest public libraries in London and has a separate arts library, a large music library and a children's library which regularly conducts free events. The Barbican Library houses the 'London Collection' of historical books and resources, some of which date back 300 years, all being available on loan. The library presents regular literary events[3] and has an art exhibition space for hire. The music library has a free practice piano for public use, 99 Feet East "It has a courtyard with a BBQ." and "12 Bar Club" so please I would appreciate if my article is deleted than the following MUST be revised and lldeleted accordingly. Otherwise please edit it or let me know which section needs to be edited so that Bush Hall can be listed on London Venue's list or just in Wikipedia in general. Thank you I look forward to your response--EllaMaxi1988 (talk) 21:30, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- I do not agree that the page is 'unambiguously' promotional or needs a 'fundamental rewrite'; more like the removal of a phrase or two ('huge potential', 'intimate' gigs etc. – unless you can quote a reliable source which describes it in those words). In any case, it deserves not to be speedied, at least, and to get more eyes on it if it is to be deleted. It Is Me Here t / c 21:40, 19 March 2012 (UTC)
- The same article was speedied once and the creator blocked. Few days later a "local resident" decides to creates new account and recreate virtually the same article with identical spammy links (which I removed) and with absolutely no sources to back up the tenuous claims to notability? Google Bush Hall and you get nothing but commercial listings, nothing to back up the claims made. Harry the Dog WOOF 06:13, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
